I have worked in metalwork and sculpture since the 1980's. I recently turned to painting because the choice of this medium conveys my interest in color and organic-based forms. My work is characterized by the use of visual elements derived from natural subjects. These elements are transformed through the manipulation of color, form and shape. The resulting imaginative anatomy becomes an artwork based on nature but not depicting its reality.

I express my work with shaped wood oil paintings that combine selected characteristics of both painting and sculpture. Recently I have been working with metal, wood and paint. The combination of painting and sculpture will continue to be of primary importance to me as it offers many possibilities of expression within the confines of my basic subject matter.
